Joseph Roberson, M.D.

Roberson, JosephJoseph Roberson, M.D. CEO, Managing Partner Joseph Roberson, M.D. serves as CEO and Managing Partner at the California Ear Institute, where he oversees all business, clinical and surgical daily operations at several Northern California locations. Roberson serves as faculty member and is the former Chief of Otology-Neurotology-Skull Base surgery at Stanford University where he worked before launching LTHF. He serves as a consultant for several industry leaders, including Acclarent, Medtronic, Advanced Bionics Corporation and Cochlear Corporation. He maintains an active clinical and surgical practice, and functions as the Fellowship Director of CEI, a program responsible for training surgeons in Otology-Neurotology-Skull Base surgery.

Currently, Roberson also serves as Founder and President for The Let Them Hear Foundation, a medical organization passionate about bringing the gift of hearing to those living in silence in the U.S. and around the world. As LTHF Founder and President, Roberson leads all daily operations and strategic planning efforts for the Foundation. His responsibilities as President include traveling to train surgeons and found cochlear implant programs overseas, program development and administration.

A widely published and featured speaker, Roberson has appeared on multiple national television programs.

John Dornhoffer, M.D.

DornhofferDr. John L. Dornhoffer is Professor and Vice-Chairman at the in the Department of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), Little Rock, Arkansas.  He is holder of the Samuel D. McGill, Jr., Endowed Chair in Otolaryngology Research and is Director of the Division of Otology and Neurotology at UAMS and Arkansas Children’s Hospital.  He is currently the Executive Director of the Prosper Meniere Society.

Dr. Dornhoffer received his medical degree from the University of Kansas Medical School, Kansas City, Kansas, in 1988.  He completed his residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at UAMS.  This was followed by fellowship training in otology and neurotology with Professor Jan Helms as the University of Würzburg, Germany, followed by additional training in skull base surgery with Professor Ugo Fisch at the University of Zurich, Switzerland.   He has been on faculty at UAMS and Arkansas Children’s Hospital since 1994.  His clinical interest has focused on prosthesis development for reconstruction of the ossicular chain and techniques in tympanoplasty and canal wall reconstruction utilizing cartilage.    His current research has focused on the application of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) for tinnitus.

Dr. Dornhoffer has had funding from the National Space Biomedical Research Institute, the Deafness Research Foundation, and the Tinnitus Research Consortium.  He has also led a project on the National Institutes of Health Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE).  See his new AOFC fellowship information here!

We are excited to be offering 1 fellow position for July 2016!

A one year Fellowship in Advanced Otology is offered in response to the need in Otolaryngology for increased clinical competence at the graduating Resident level.  Most Residents feel their clinical skills in surgical and medical Otology-Neurotology-Skull Base Surgery are limited and do not feel adequately prepared to confidently offer surgical treatment of chronic ear disease, otosclerosis, cochlear implantation, dizziness evaluation and treatment, the business of medicine and the logistics of being an employer, etc in their future communities of practice…
